I thought about these people on abydos in stargate too, but I've seen the movie way too often to know it's not from the film so I didn't post at all. Besides this post now. So this post is kind of invalid. But I'll click the post button anyways

You may think you're a Stargate fan, but have you ever played Stargate-themed laser tag? For some reason, when I was a kid, that's what our local laser tag place was.

I thought your 'Stargate' guess was a 'Blade Runner!' guess.

I totally knew where you were coming from though:
'The Man Who Would Be King' ends, desert still there, 300 years or so pass, there you go = Stargate! (<- That sequence
seemed absolutely logical to me at that time - disturbing, ain't it?!
