WHINE, SULKY, PORTA, FAVOR, ABORD, BROAD

To mix things up I always pull the first word from whatever's going through my mind at the moment, sometimes adapted to fit the letter count.

Incidentally, I suspect Wyna Liu has been listening to Chappell Roan.

Amazing coincidence - Wordle and Plusword had the same answer today

I don't remember if we already discussed this, but I think this might work as a puzzle for an adventure game:

You learn that someone always uses the same starting guess in Wordle, but not what it is. You have a small handful of color-grids of puzzles they've solved, and what the actual solutions were. Your task is to try to figure out their initial guess. To do so you have to reconstruct the intermediate guesses, working backwards. For example, in this case it is pretty easy to see that cat's second row must have been:

That's a good idea. Given how people's heads work, this person may use his password for something as his first Wordle guess. I don't think that would be too far fetched.

I thought so as well, but tried it nonetheless (I didn't know the solution word and only guessed it)

After Wordle was acquired by the NYT they have started occasionally picking words related to the date or to current events (which I personally don't approve of since it adds an outside factor to the game). I think it's plausible that today's choice has to do with...

the ongoing US hurricane disasters. (GUSTY: of the weather/wind, blowing in gusts.)

Between RUSTY, DUSTY, MUSTY, FUSTY, LUSTY and BUSTY, getting the first letter comes down to luck otherwise.

The New York Times Tech Guild, the union that represents the workers who build and maintain NYT games like Wordle and Connections, are on strike, and they are calling on people to boycott the games in the mean time. Instead, they are hosting a bunch of games on their website, including Wordle and Connection clones. (Edit: The Wordle clone, "Strikle," seems to be more of a gimmick than a real game.)
