Some Midwest emo ;) (cue internet flamewar about music genres)
...
I loved this.  Even though this was in the mid '00s, it felt like it was from the mid '90s.

So I'm currently listening to this:

That song rocks so hard.  I'd love to hear a great band do like a 7+ minute version of it.  The outro music is also one of my favorites from the show.  Such great music in this old cartoon.

Love this song. And the video is hilarious.  (laugh)

Nice   8-) never heard of this guy. Sounds like what I imagine progressive 1960s America to be.

WHAM

Been getting into Sunless Skies for the past couple weeks and this little piece has been stuck in my head. Thus, I share:
Wrongthinker and anticitizen one. Utterly untrustworthy. Pending removal to memory hole.

Damien Rice - What if I'm Wrong     in my personal opinion, the best lyrics that i have ever heard

Snarky

I went to see Florence + The Machine in concert the other day, and have been listening a lot to "Rabbit Heart" (which they didn't play, I'm just a sucker for the mythic imagery) and "South London Forever" in the days since. Bootleg video from the same tour:

Ponch

I've been diving deep into various flavors of punk lately. Last week was pop punk (Andrew WK and that kind of stuff). This week is southern-fried punk.

Fired this up just now. These are buddies of mine, semi-famous I guess. They did open for AC/DC a few years ago so that's quite an achievement :D I had a few band projects with the drummer back in the days

And that lead me to this good ol' classic. The baddest asses of rock n roll :D I never get tired of the guitar riff that begins at about 0:35 No matter how many times I listen to this song, I never get tired of that riff :D

I can never get tired of listening to Hotel California. The intro, chord sequence, and the outro solo---everything about this song is so mesmerizing. There are three versions of this song which I repeatedly listen to:

1. Hotel California --- Live in Washington DC 1977

2. Hotel California --- MTV Unplugged 1994

3. Hotel California --- Don Felder's Acoustic Guitar Performance in The Jeff Probst Show

I mainly watched this because of the crazy awesome music video, but the song is great too;

Did you know the Offspring singer, Dexter Holland, has a PhD in molecular biology? Always found that tidbit interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dexter_Holland

Somewhat mysterious and sombre background music to work to (tones of David Lynch, Kid A and Lowroar). It's a nice misty morning here in the Emirates, so these tracks are a perfect accompaniment.  ;)

I had no idea, though I'm not surprised. There are a great deal of celebrities out there who have high degrees in various fields.  :)
