When one of these mysteries begins to make itself known in an extremely unsettling way, two people suddenly find themselves caught up in a long, perplexing journey which will ultimately decide the fate of both themselves and their loved ones...and these two people are Queen Cassima, wife of King Alexander, and Prince Edgar, lover of Princess Rosella.

Stunning graphics, animation and sound. I liked playing the game, but I think those who have played the KQ series will get much more out of it than I did. For fans of the series, it's a safe recommendation.
Thank you so much for making this game! I played the original King's Quest game back in '86 or '87, and played the whole series through the late '80s and '90s. Not to mention playing every fan game I could find just to try and relive the nostalgia of those original games.
This game, though not without its flaws, was great as it allowed me to not only revisit characters from the original games but also to revisit the lands from those games.
It was also nice to play characters from the original games that were not previously playable characters.
The story was great and the gameplay was good as well. If I had to nitpick on one thing, it's that you can progress so far without being able to die, then without warning, there is a sequence where you CAN die. Luckily, the dev put in a RETRY button and you can start the sequence over without having to go back to a previously saved game.
Awesome job!
I loved playing this game; it was wonderful!! First of all, the game starts with a map of all the lands explored in past King's Quest games. And then, during this game, you get to go to all these lands, so cool! When I saw Crispin's cottage again from King's Quest V, oh my goodness, the happiness!! :D
And on the game's main title page, you have to click on the icon: The Story So Far...
It's awesome, not only does Akril do an amazing job of summarizing all the King's Quest games 1-7, when she does the summary for King's Quest VIII: Mask of Eternity (the Abomination), haha, so funny! :D
I've always HATED labyrinths in adventure games...hated them. In fact, in the early nineties (before online walkthroughs were readily available), my brother and I as kids would try to get thru the desert in King's Quest V only to die over and over and over again...
So when I encountered the labyrinth in this game, I was like, oh no, oh crap...but Akril made the very first labyrinth that I actually enjoyed getting thru!!
I really enjoyed playing Akril's King's Quest IX game, it was so nice to have some closure...I've been waiting for a King's Quest IX game to conclude the story of King Graham and his family since the early 2000's, so almost 25 years now :P
I really appreciate all the time and all the hard work that Akril committed in order to create King's Quest IX: It Takes Two to Tangle. The adventure game that she created is a wonderful closure for the King's Quest gaming series. We really appreciate it Akril, thank you!! :D
There few bugs, but that game is pleasant to play with
Game of the Year in my opinion!
Maybe even Game of the Decade.
I don't think that Sierra would have developed any better KQ sequel.
