The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

A humorous game in a fantasy setting. Help Unilin VonLudwig escape the tedium of small town life.

7 people commented on this game (newest first):

The graphics are clearly the worst part of VonLudwig but the rest isn't that much better. The designer doesn't seem to know what he wants the game to be, as it starts looking like it might be inspired by western-style games, then moves to fantasy/medieval-style, but then it also includes modern-style elements.

It's a mess, but with some time and dedication the author could probably squeeze three different games out of the basic elements here, and all of them would be more focused and playable to be sure.

I can't speak intelligibly on the full game, however of the few screens I was able to visit before it crashed I was dissatisfied with the graphics and scripting. The conversations (especially with the shopkeeper) seemed forced. The game grashed after encountering the bull just outside of town.

I have asked for help to get the ludwig.exe file since July and still don't have an answer. I don't understand that you give yourself the trouble of creating a game and then don't even bother to help us play it. To me this is a complete let-down. I am very disappointed.

Cannot play the game. When downloaded, it does not have the ludwig.exe file.

Beware of dying and starting over from scratch!!!!

This is a suprisingly playable game, much longer than expected and ingeniously humourous.
