The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

You wake on a fine, brisk morning to the sound of gunshots! You are soon gassed and kidnapped. With your sister missing and the police not on your side, you must work quickly to uncover the mystery in... Revenge in Parelly Point!

AGS Panel Review

"Considering that Revenge in Parelly Point was made years ago with a much less powerful version of AGS, it holds up rather well. The visuals, while simple, fit the style of the game and the music is good, although the puzzles are rather basic and the game is over just as it starts to get interesting. Still, people who like short, self-contained adventures will probably not be disappointed!"

5 people commented on this game (newest first):

Non-intuitive interface. The use of mouse AND keyboard is mandatory, thus slowing the use of the game. Reading readme.txt is mandatory.

No conversation: when you "talk", you never choose any line. Only information boxes tells you what was the conversation about: cold impression.
Moveover, the characters do not repeat themselves: you must save before then re-Load.
Strange: even poor-quality ags games have real dialogues.

When driving: you should be able to choose driving left/right. To stop the car, you must accelerate more! Also, no map.
You have to die many times before driving correctly.
The garage cannot be identified visually.
If you drive the wrong side of the road, the game can easily crash.

Few tasks to do at each location, usually straightforward. As if these were just pretexts to make you drive! or driving a pretext to spend fewer times to build the locations!

The walkthrough (not included in the game) is not always precise enough to find some destinations.

This is far from a perfect game, but it's a decent effort. It's clear that a lot of effort has been put into designing the city, which is why it's strange that it's so short - the game ends just when things are starting to get good. A few of the puzzles are really bizarre and nonsensical, but the driving is well-done and generally well-implemented. The interface sort of got in the way of playing at times, but generally this is a solid effort and I'm looking forward to future games by Hud.

I found the pixel hunting part really frustrating, especially the fact that there was exactly one right interaction in every room and if oyu didn't find it, you'd end up clicking anything at random.

I really liked the graphics and the sound and music were not bad either, the driving was also fun, the dying was not. Not a bad game for patient players.

There are some illogical moments which cause some aggrevation, but on the whole it's a very fun game and it has a great Police Quest 1-type driving section.

I liked the different approach to an adventure game - really good idea. The graphics were really good, so the dialogues.
But, it involves quite a bit of pixel hunting and if you missed something in a conversation - you have to re-load; it took a bit of joy out of playing.
Otherwise thank you for a good game!
