The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

The von Penumbrus are famous parapsychological hunters fighting mummies, vampires, ghosts, werewolves, ... since several generations. But... the youngest member of the family, Gilbert, is not really a promising hunter. He is rather lazy, determinedly peaceful, not really very bright... and after some painful training sessions, this is the night of his first hunt.

The atmosphere, humor and graphism are very good, and worth the play. Nice game!

I agree with the comment that some animations take way too long and detract from a quite professional looking and fun game.

Great visual style, for me the game seemed a little buggy and the puzzles didn't match the quality of the visuals. Definitely worth playing though.

Just to let people know, you can adjust the speed of the game and all animations in the Menu Options.

Humorous and nice looking game with good written story. I really liked graphics, I like that kind of drawing in adventure games.

The game seems fairly fun, but some of the animations take too long (I'm thinking of when he looks in the bushes and has to look back and forth twice, very slowly. Moving from one location to another is also very slow).

I sort of ragequitted this one when I was getting the ghostbone and I accidentally gave it back before using it. The game apparently doesn't allow you to get it a second time, so at that point I was stuck.

Another thing that sort of bothered me is that most action that don't work have the standard "I can't do that" response, but with some items it doesn't work, and I kept thinking I was misclicking.

On the bright side, I do like the visual style of this game, and I love the raven companion. It really adds to the game.
