About this game
Can't tell you what this game is about because the first puzzle is to find out where Melrin (the hero of the game) is and how he got there and why. This is an updated version of the previously posted game. The GUI and screen resolution has been changed. This is also the full game while the previous posting only contained part 1.

Taking place in a wonderful fantasy land, Melrin offers a range of huge locations to explore, all of which create a beautiful atmosphere for the game. The graphics are really attractive and I loved exploring the kingdom. Melrin encounters very little life-threatening danger on his journey so the vibe of the game was relaxed and thoroughly delightful. As I have said before about the Ben Jordan games, Melrin is like a lovely memory of a Saturday morning cartoon you watched as a kid.
I guess the main criticism I have of Melrin is the shallow characterisations. Although Melrin is an amiable enough lead, the characters he meets along the way are very developed, offering only straight to the point dialogue. There are no real verbal exchanges to cherish here. On the plus side, this does make the games very pacy and Melrin himself has some amusing dialogues with the players themselves.
Generally the puzzles are fine. I love the idea of having to collect Melrin's magic spheres to regain his powers and whenever I came across a new sphere I got very excited to find out what new power I would obtain. Occasionally the odd event didn't make sense SPOILER: "Now how shall I get off this island? Oh look, here an empty hot air balloon for no reason". I thought that was pretty weak, especially since Melrin only recently stole a rope which was holding a boat in place, causing the boat to float off-screen. I was expecting the boat from earlier to drift up to the island, which I thought would be really clever. Oh well SPOILER END. However, overall the puzzles should keep you playing for a good amount of time without making you want to bury an axe in your computer.
Melrin is a really great game, then. I fail to see how most people would not find something to enjoy in this little treasure. A relaxing, attractive and fun experience which everyone should play when they get the chance
I will now go to the second game.
But that said, I still enjoyed the game..very much.
