The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

The year is 1676 and Sweden have claimed the region of Scania from the longstanding enemy Denmark. Yet not all Scanians are ready to accept the Swedish supremacy, and have taken to the woods where they lay waiting in ambush for Swedish troops passing by. This game deals with the Snapphane rebellion in late seventeenth-century Sweden and can be played in both Swedish and English. The Snaplock was created for MAGS in March 2017 with the theme "size matters".

When you see the wagon with gunpowder, use it to fire an explosion. Walk: 1) to the right, 2) to the right and north in the footsteps, 3) to the left and north in the footsteps, 4) to the north in the footsteps, 5) to the right, 6) to the north in the footsteps, 7) to the right, 8) to the right to the water’s edge. You must be quick so that the officer cannot catch up and kill you. In the talk with the officer throw him a gun.

This game's story is really well told. It's a short game, but the animations and close ups really draw you into the action. An excellent 5-minute adventure to play in your lunch break.

A very nice looking game with a specific woodblock print art style from the game's era that the author worked into the game to perfection...

This is a really lovely looking game, with good pacing and a satisfying conclusion. It could possibly do with a few puzzles to add some interest to the gameplay, but overall is a sweet game that is worth the time for the history lesson that it provides.
