The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

You are inexperienced Police Constable Jack Burton, seconded to CID and
thrust into the middle of an escalating murder mystery in a dead-end town. Can
you stop the killer before he strikes again?

This is the second episode of a humorous three-part point and click
adventure game inspired by the Police Quest series (albeit with no dead ends or
deaths!)

Broken Windows Chapter 1 was chosen as a Pick of the Month on the AGS
website for March 2020. Now play the eagerly-awaited (I imagine) second
installment!

Hope you enjoy it.

AGS Panel Review

"Really good investigative game that conjures up vibes from Police Quest, without the dead ends. The game is made out of self-contained situations that works as chapters and must be solved in order to progress. Arguably the best outing in this series."

7 people commented on this game (newest first):

Really recommend to play the chapter, and previous ones also! You'll have fun for a while. Play it, you won't regret it.

Great classic adventure game. It started a bit slow but it gained intensite and gripped me as the investigation went on. Beautiful background and vehicle graphics. Satisfactory investigation puzzles, reminded me to Pleughburgh in some degree (that is a compliment).

Best of the 3 released so far. Witty, and great to see a sequel that starts where the previous left off. Love the British touches and references.

It can be difficult to balance humour and a serious murder investigation story, but these games pull it off. Very good game.

Nicer and better and little bigger Police Quest game. Well done!

Broken Windows Chapter 2 follows in a very similar vein to that of Chapter 1, retaining great humour and continuing forward with a very intriguing plotline and some delightfully undelightful characters.

Well worth a play, especially if you were into the Police Quest series in days gone by.

A very well written and executed production. The gameplay is always enthralling and the puzzles are just right, not too difficult, but not easy by any stretch. The game controls when Jack cannot leave a scene because of lack of evidence, hence no dead-ends.

The storyline is great, though I suspect all is not what it seems. Is Gaz really the killer? How badly does the DCI want to become the mayor? What's in store for Jack? Basically I loved it, and bring on episode 3, please! Now to replay it and find the elusive point - I scored 100/101, frustrating!!
