CLUES, doll, I was looking for CLUES.  What's so hard to understand about that?  The thing about detective work is, sometimes you don't know something is a clue until later... so you investigate everything possible.  I wonder what I would find if I were to examine YOU?

As for my relation to Madame Sky... yeah I've done some work for her.  She's not the only one who needs assistance from a PI from time to time.  But exactly what our arrangement was is strictly confidential and absolutely none of your business.

Okay, okay... let's calm things down.  Is there any more booze in this joint?

Don't be stupid, people.  I'm a Private Investigator - I'm looking for clues, not money.  I already have a good idea of which one of you people protesting so innocently is guilty of murder - along with some of your other dirty secrets.  I need more evidence to prove it though - maybe THAT'S why you're objecting to me clue-hunting, eh?

Stow the objections and let me get on with my inquiries.  Just remember - YOU'RE ALL SUSPECTS.

Anyone else entered this?  I've wanted to make an audiogame for some time now and this panders to my talents - pretty good at sound design, absolutely terrible at graphics! :-D

I've got a working mock-up of my game idea (without sound it will make no sense as only a black screen in the video btw):

It's called "Blindsweeper" and is - you guessed it - Minesweeper but using only sound.  More or less Minesweeper, anyway.  Got a lot of fine-tuning to do and some features to add.

When entered games will appear here.

Space Junk?

Greetings Bartek!  Glad to have you on the forum.

He looks like a Ray to me.  Not 100% sure why but he does.

"CYBORG SEPPUKU" was an issue with the script that AGS uses to start the game for Linux builds, so this wasn't a problem with the client.
I guess it should be removed from the table?

Done, thanks.

Hmm... well so far the only confirmed issue was with my own game.  I'm wondering if it's to do with the install package rather than AGS - anyone successfully installed Stomping Boots via the client?  Anyone had issues with any other AGS games running in Itch App?  (I haven't found any yet.)

I'm also 1014.

Oh... sorry, I never noticed.  My I just say what an honour it is to have such ancient wisdom on board!

¬°Bienvenidos ArsCreativa!

I see from your profile that you are just over a thousand years old.  We are proud to immediately name you our oldest member! :-D

I find extremely useful for creating puzzle dependency flowcharts - if that counts as storyboarding?

I use Goldwave for SFX.

I leave art and music to those far more talented than me so can't really comment much on those.  One day I will get to grips with Aseprite though!

Guys, I am mightily impressed by both of your techniques! ;-D

I made a JRPG proof of concept back in 2013. Unfortunately the guy I made this for never released the game. I never implemented a battle screen though, but Snarky did.
So yes - it's all possible, and it's fun doing it in AGS :)

Just out of curiosity, did you use tilesets to make the backgrounds first and then use the results as large rooms in AGS, or did you have AGS put the tiles together in-game?

Are you saying that CYBORG SEPPUKU doesn't work? You won't have icacls on anything that isn't Windows, so have they got something named icacls return errors on all platforms, or does it just fail with no clues as to what happened?

I don't know about the error codes much, maybe it's not useful information?  as I said, all I have so far is the error message someone got from trying to run my own game.  (I don't know if the fact that my game has an installer makes any difference?)  The Outer Zone posted that a user had reported issues launching his game in Linux using Itch App -

ICACLS indicates that it might be a permissions issue. Maybe try giving "Everyone" read/write access to the file before uploading it. I don't even know if that sort of stuff is preserved when things are uploaded.

Not sure Ben, and not aware that the RW access was not set to everyone when I uploaded.  Just want to know if this is a specific issue to AGS games running in the Itch APP - just tried The Outer Limit's game in it (in Windows 10) and everything worked fine.

Just want to report that I've tried installing and playing this game with Windows 10 and had no issues.  Everything worked fine.

Just want to keep a log of any issues found launching AGS games via the Itch APP i please let me know if you have any yourselves / have reports from players of your games.  I'm in contact with the dev of the app about this to see if it's a specific issue with AGS games.  Once we've had a chance to see if this effects multiple AGS-made games, I'll post it on the Itch App issue tracker.  I'm not entirely sure what sort of error codes the App itself generates - I can only go by the one I got for Captain Disaster (spawn icacls code 6) - I'm working on the assumption that most others will be a variations of this but not sure yet.

Notes - CYBORG SEPPUKU issue resolved, not actually an Itch App issue.

She's Barbie doll style topless though...

Ah okay. :-D

Will give this nipple-free game a go later.

Family friendly gameplay but she appears to be topless?! 8-0

Congrats on the release.  You seem to be really getting into this MAGS thing mate...

I think there's an issue with the Itch App, someone just had an issue with running Captain Disaster from it too (running Windows 10):

It's worth keeping track of whether this is a problem for multiple AGS games - I've never actually come across it before myself though.

The user has sent feedback to Itch.
