General Discussion / BF3 AGS server?
Thu 28/03/2013 01:31:21
I was wondering if any AGSers that enjoy BF3 would be interested in having a server just for us AGSers? :).
If enough is interested I'll consider renting a 24 slots server (depending on amount of people interested) for a year.

I'll either try and get one where we can vote for game modes and such within the game, or do some kind of daily/weekly poll online of what maps/game modes to play.

So I'm definitely going to Norway this summer (June) but was thinking of maybe making a bit more out of the trip itself and travel by car! (Only if I buy a car this or next month).
And I'd love to possibly meet some AGSers on my way and possibly borrow a sofa for a night before I continue my travels towards the northern lands!

I'll be starting off here in Cardiff, Wales heading towards Le Petit-Quevilly, France for the first day (a small de-tour to meet a good friend of mine).
Then after spending a night (or possible two) I plan on heading north straight through Belgium and along the west side of Germany up towards Denmark.
Then I'll be heading towards Sweden and follow the west coast all the way to my destination in Norway.

This is my current route:
google maps link

I'm looking to spend 4-5 days each way (7-8 hours drive a day).
I'm not looking to see famous places or anything, I'd just like to meet some fellow AGSers and hangout!

If anyone along my route (or close by my route, I'll gladly do smaller de-tours) would be interested in meeting me too (and possibly hosting me for one night) please do let me know! :).

Current route plan:
1st day stop: Le Petit-Quevilly, France
2nd day stop: undecided though possibly somewhere in Mid Germany
3rd day stop: undecided though probably somewhere in Denmark or South Sweden.
4th day stop: Final destination unless another stop is planned causing me to need another day
(5th day stop: Final destination)

Does anyone know if there is any way at all to have a key code removed from an iPhone without having all the data erased?
My father had an iPhone but none of us know what his key code was, and we would like to access his iPhone without erasing all the data so we could get any pictures etc off there.

I've just been told that my dad has passed away and I will be taking a short break from computers while I go up North to see my family for a bit.. It's a very very sad day for me as I feel I haven't had enough time spent with my dad before he died. He was taken from us way too early!

RIP Rolf Steinar Johnsen - You'll always be in my heart dad <3

General Discussion / AGSA IRC chat for AGSers
Sat 05/01/2013 14:08:08
We're happy to announce the official IRC channel of AGS Archives dedicated to the AGS community!

The concept is probably already all too familiar to you. Anything AGS-related, AGS community-related, adventure and indie games-related, as well as random offtopic friendly chatter are equally welcome. Every AGSer and any curious outsider are welcome alike. The only rule is being nice or at least reasonable towards others.

We are highly freedom of speech-friendly and non-judgemental, focusing on people not being overwhelmingly mean to each other rather than getting on a high horse and deciding what counts as funny, interesting, or intellectual enough to be allowed to be said and what doesn't.

You can join the AGS chat by dropping by in #AGS on irc.agsarchives.com with any IRC client of your liking. Alternatively, you can simply click here to join the chat within your browser.

For the launch of the new AGS Archives I'd like to have an mobile app developed to allow gamers/developers to use a handful of the features available on the site, these include:

# Login/register
# Simple search for games/addons
# Add games/addons to play later/download later lists
# Read game/addon/developer news/updates and read/add comments to these
# Read/send messages
# Push notifications (new message/news)

Developers should also be able to do these extra things:
# Add game/addon/developer news/updates
# View simple download stats
# Push notifications (new message/news/comment)

If nobody on these forums can and want to help develop this I'll probably do it myself as a mobile site. Though if anyone has good experience with doing a mobile site that could also be of good help!

Reply or send PM, or if not registered on the forums email info[at]agsarchives.com!

Best regards,
Peder Johnsen.

General Discussion / 5 hour gap in Amsterdam
Thu 21/06/2012 09:58:08
So, I'm currently in Norway doing some business and seeing family etc. but this Monday I'll be going back to the UK!
However, there is a 5 hour gap from when I land until my next plane takes off from Amsterdam! (I'll probably have 2-3 hours to spend if I leave the airport).

So I was just wondering if there is anything close enough Schiphol worth seeing/visiting?

I was just wondering if there are any peeps here that develope apps for the iOS and Android platform?

As I'm far from even being OK in programming for the Android platform and not looking into buying a mac I will be needing someone to help develop an app for a web app project I am working on for both the Android and iOS platform.

Reason I ask this is simply because I'd like to know how "kynningu" (which should translate to "promotion"??) is pronounced!

Thank you!

So I am not usually the person to ask for help when it comes to computers but this one just really beats me!

Since today, I seems to not be able to get online on my DELL XPS 15 Laptop. It connects fine to the router and says it has internet access, but I can't access no websites NOR the router itself. Mind I have several times just right after connecting managed to open a website, but then it won't work after that... Also programs seems to take longer to load than they usually do. Should I assume I might have a virus? (Doing a full scan as I am writing this and nothing found yet.).

As you can see I am online with my old laptop without any issues at ALL. And all other devices I have also have internet access..
I even tried using a cabled connection with my laptop and it is still the same issue, I might be able to load a page right at the beginning then it just "cuts out".

Oh and I forgot to mention that even trying to open a local server (a WAMP Server on the same machine) in my browser is painfully slow....

Have you ever made a tribute to any of your favourite games of any kind? be it a remix of a game tune, original song, fan game, fan art etc.

Post yours here!

I myself made this half original half "remix" of one of the songs from the game Alex Kidd in Miracle World on the Sega Master System years back: Alex Kidd - Den Gruesomme (Black Metal)

For those of you who know the game let me know if you recognize parts of it or not from the actual game music :).

Now let me see everyone elses fan made stuff! :D

General Discussion / Any flash gurus here?
Mon 08/11/2010 14:40:37
I am in need of someone with good flash knownledge to help with a website I am working with.
I am basically looking for someone that is not only good in flash but also is interested in becoming a co-founder/owner of the website.

When it comes to the thing I need it is basically a 3D globe that will show information from a database.
It need to reload new entries on the go and autoscroll to the new addition live.

If the limited info I have given you sounds interesting feel free to PM me or post here and we can talk more about!

General Discussion / Any of you into airsoft?
Fri 08/10/2010 19:46:53
And then I mean not just the airsoft guns themselves but actually are in a club doing simulations etc?

I bought a couple of rifles about a year ago (unfortnatly left them in Norway when I moved back to Wales) and planned to join a local club, though never got too it (The airsoft guns was actually bought for movie making :P). Planning on looking to find some clubs here in Wales and maybe buy some new airsoft guns or get the ones I have in Norway.
