Time for this week's installment of the Tune Contest. The rules are simple; create an original song however you want. You can use midi, actual instruments, or even make instrument sounds with your mouth. Every week there is a chosen theme and some rules and all songs should follow those.

This weeks theme is Flyin' Saucers/UFOs!

The Rules:
- Your song must paint a picture in our minds of those crazy, hovering unidentifiables.

Tips/Ideas:
- Choose a special sound for your craft to make it stand out from the others. Pull out those Moog samples from the back of your library. Or maybe give it something more wild, like a bassoon or harmonica.
- Pan your sounds to give it the feeling of movement.
- Try and use different tempos and dynamics, giving us an idea how fast, or slow, this thing is going.

So pull out those Theremins and slide whistles and let's get started!

Seeing I missed the rock and roll music comp I decided UFO rock was in order :), not sure if it fits the rules perfectly, but I'll try enter anyway.

LGM

Yea, I don't know anything about sound design or music creation.. But here's my go with random sound effects, a stolen baseline and drum beat from Adobe Audition example files, and two recorded lines by yours truly.

I enter too! I hope it's not too late  :P

I hear good entries here... mine is not that dark and deep, but I've never been any good with Fruity neither.
Lame beat, lottsa synth pads and heavily phased piano...

Hope I followed atleast some rules  :) And you have patience to atleast once listen it through.

Wow, everyone one (including LGM, you cheating bastard :D ) had fantastic entries. I'm sorry I don't have the time to write critics and comments for everyone, but they'd all be praise anyway.

And the winner of this week(ish)'s Tune Contest is Biothlebop! Your entry had a great sense of calmness before the storm of aliens, perfect for an AGS game. Congrats to you and thanks to all of the other contestants and their entries.

>:( So he doesn't enter yet he still wins!

This was quite unexpected but thanks for the nomination. I actually began writing a song specifically for this comp, but it came out more generally sci-fi than UFO, so I didn't finish it.

Anyways, since Obi already started a tune thread, and the topic might produce some interesting songs, I leave it up to him to host this ongoing competition.

I didn't start a tune contest, I started a song contest! You're welcomed to start a tune contest. As you did win afterall.

biothlebop

Sorry, my mistake. New topic coming up.
