Captain Disaster - The Dark Side of the Moon
« on: 15 Aug 2013, 01:08 »
I am at the section
Spoiler: ShowHide
towards the end of the game where I have defeated the maestro and I have the replacement crystal and the stargate manual which I have read.
I still can't figure out how to
Spoiler: ShowHide
set the stargate to return me home.
If anyone could give me a hint I would really appreciate it.

Hi Michael

Have you carefully looked at the StarGate Manual?

Spoiler: ShowHide
There's a code you can dial to get the "Last Dialled" SGIP - it's on the right-hand first page you turn to in the book.  Once you've entered this code and hit the orange button, it changes the icons on the Stargate.  Once you have those, you have to use the key on the next page of the StartGate Manual to find the right code to get back...

If you need more hints, please let me know!  I'm always wary of giving too much away to players who only want a slight nudge not a whole mini-walkthrough  8-0

I am stuck..I have
Spoiler: ShowHide
Berry, megaphone, crowbar, hover board, suspenders, stargate for dummies book, camera, pudding, and greens
What do I do next?

Not quite sure exactly where you are in the game, but...

Spoiler: ShowHide
Look closer around the Deep Chasm... is there something you could use one of those items on to explore the chasm and see what's down there?

If you haven't encountered The Maestro yet, maybe you need to...

Spoiler: ShowHide
Talk to Floyd about one of the items on the right-hand side of the mountains.  [hide]Remember, you can only ask Floyd about things you've already LOOKED at.

I must apologise for including two pixel hunts in the game - that and the
Spoiler: ShowHide
slot in the Bjork Cube - though I don't think that one's too difficult to spot as it flashes
... I hate pixel hunts myself!  (roll)

Thank you!  Glad you enjoyed it.  :-D

I'm wandering aimlessly after
Spoiler: ShowHide
The Maestro raised the shield.
I can't enter the hotel rooms,
Spoiler: ShowHide
I added duct tape to the hand, but the main character says the hand won't press the buttons.
I read about
Spoiler: ShowHide
the outcrop,
but I can't find it. I can't get to any new places, either by lack of items or my inability to use them in the right order.

Help appreciated :-)

Hey JKohen!

Hope you're enjoying the game despite being stuck... here are some pointers...

Regarding getting into the hotel rooms:

Spoiler: ShowHide
The hand needs to be attached to something else...

Still not sure?

Spoiler: ShowHide
Have you got the ice block off the ice rink yet and melted it to see what's inside?

If you have done that and still now sure...

Spoiler: ShowHide
The Flying Saucer needs to be powered up... maybe by a crystal and something from the van...

The Outcrop:

Spoiler: ShowHide
Look around near the top of the Deep Chasm at the far bottom right of the game map

Happy to give more hints if you need them of course, but I don't want to say anything more in case I spoil it for you!

I'm enjoying the game, no worries :-)

Crystal? It seems that's what I'm missing. Where do I get it from?

I found the outcrop with your directions. It looks like I don't have anything I can use there yet.

Thanks, that's all I needed to complete the game. I didn't think of going back there this early in the game :-)
