error code [game.exe being used by another process]

i was trying to play test this game but get this from the output box
Unexpected error: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\phillip borders\Documents\myfists ags\_Debug\myfists ags.exe' because it is being used by another process.
how can i fix it?

First of all, which version of AGS are you using?

We were reported this error before, but I forgot what was causing this: either antivirus, or game fails to exit properly and then Editor cannot rebuld/rerun it again.
I can suggest to do following:
- restart AGS Editor and see if that helps.
- if it did not help, open Task Manager, go to processes tab and search for the name of your game exe. If you see it there, then shut that process down.
- also Avast antivirus is known to cause troubles with AGS.

I got this when AGS froze when I tried to compile and run a game. I had to restart my computer and the OpenInEditor.lock didn't get deleted. Also Dropbox was trying to upload it. I restarted the computer again and it was fine.
