Author Topic: Games I have worked on according to the database  (Read 631 times)  Share

Hi, there appears to be a problem with showing which games I have and haven't worked on on the AGS database game pages,
it says I have worked on Sons of Gaia 21 times, but I have never worked on that game, and certainly not 21 times!
Can anyone fix this problem?

Please give me exact steps to reproduce this, because I can't see any game by that name in the database, and if I search for your username I don't see anything similar either...

If you follow this link:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2174/
to one of the latest games I've worked on, click on See the people who made this game and any other games they've worked on << and then click on my username you will see it.

(Unless this was fixed) I don't see "Son of Gaia" there either. Maybe your system/browser was hijacked and there are some code injected into the displayed page?
Have you tried another browser and see whether the problem persists?

Couple of days ago I've seen a game in someone's profile twice but twenty-one times is a lot worse.

I'm seeing them. And in top of that, it's not listing some of the games you actually have worked on.

Maybe Peder can help: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=30512

I see it now. Odd.

Actually:
...and then click on my username you will see it.
I just followed your instruction to click on your username, which actually brought me to your forum profile, which did not have this problem. Instead of clicking on the username, one should click the "see them <<" link to see this problem.

Looks like somehow, authors have been added to that game.

Marion multiple times, SDown a few times, BESTIEunlmt & mandle once and Blondbraid multiple times.
I have no idea how this has happened, any ideas AGA? If I remember correctly, I created that game entry a while back when there were some issues reported or something..
But don't remember ever adding any authors. Also I disabled the entry. I guess the AGS code needs to make sure it only collects author data from active games!

That Sons of Gaia must have been one heck of a game to receive so many remakes, most of which were made by Blondbraid. (laugh)

On a more serious note though, that is one weird bug. Any ideas when it'll be fixed? I'm still seeing it.
Also I find it weird that no one has encountered this before.

Quite simply, it was happening because you were credited loads of times for that game.  A game which is not actually meant to be visible anymore, because it's been disabled.  I've cleaned up the credits, and added a check to the page so that disabled games will no longer show in that list.  Longer term, I'll do something so that credits are also disabled automatically when a game is disabled.

That's true, some of my games were left out, I'd be nice if they were added

Anyway, I'm very happy sons of Gaia isn't on the list anymore!

Games aren't "added" to that list, it's dynamically generated.  Every game which has your name in the 'author' field will show.  So if you want other games to show, change the author to Blondbraid!
