Problems w/ dialog

Whenever I try to use dialog, AGS utilizes the talking view for my main character (of course). But it looks like it treats it like a different character because when my character starts talking a copy of him appears in the top left corner of the screen, using the talking view(Down). This copy of the main character says everything my character is supposed to say, then disappears. I don't know if this is a stupid question, but I've only been using AGS for a few days now. Please Help!

You have the "sierra-style speech" option turned on in the main game tab. This is meant to be used if you made your talk view a closeup portrait. So just turn that option off.
