Whenever I run a game, either made by myself or downloaded. I get the message "Unable to initialize your audio hardware. [Problem: Failed to init digital sound driver]". Any Help?

Gilbert

Try setting up the game to use a different audio setting (if possible), try updating your soundcard's driver and/or DirectX also.

MrT

how would I find the make of my soundcard? so I can get the latest drivers, I'v tried both the options for the sound in the game and they both do the same.

Mozesh

Run dxdiag then go to the sound tab. there should be the name of your soundcard somewhere. dxdiag can be run from command prompt with the command : dxdiag (duh) or run it the same way with run option in the start menu. (at least i think its called that, since ive got a dutch windows version.)

MrT

for some reason its now working, thanks for you elp though

Mozesh

Ive have it too sometimes but mostly that is because some other program is using sound. like winamp or something.

Actually, this one is about the fact it wasnt working with my soundcard or whatnot, since it wouldnt work for any game.

The other oen was about the fact I couldnt understand how to include music in my game, as i didnt understand the manual
