Why?
Error is 'Can't read memory'
What game?
What version of AGS?
Where have you installed the game (which drive, folder, is it a hard drive or else - memory card etc?)
How do you get this error? Are you getting the message window with only this text, or there's something else? Can you make a screenshot of this error message?
Another common mistake is to run a game exe while it is still in a zip archive. That does not work either.
I'd also check if its installed in "Program Files". x64 systems expect only 64-bit versions of the program to be placed there. 32-bit versions should be installed in "Program Files (x86)".

Try somewhere else, try on your Desktop or in My Documents. Even better: try in "
Program Files (x86)", as it has been suggested.
