Well, I have quick reference sheets at work for C, Perl, Verilog and VHDL that come in very handy, so I thought an AGS quick reference sheet might be good too. So please download and let me know if anything looks wrong or would be handy to add, etc. It's two pages, because then you can print it on both sides of one sheet and laminate it...

Sorry if you don't have something that can read Word, but there's plenty of free Word readers available on the net (OpenOffice, antiword, MS's own Word Viewer, etc.) and this way you can edit it about to suit your taste. The sections were originally in the order that they appear (kind of) in the roomedit.clb file, but then were moved about various times as I experimented with margins and columns, etc. It fits on US letter paper, so A4 may require adjustment.

Edit by strazer:
SSH, bump this thread if you ever intend to release newer versions.

Nice work, I could do with printing this out myself, I'm always forgetting the function names :)

All it needs now is a bluecup watermark image in the background ;p

Fabiano

Yeah, yeah, It happens. A lot.

Cool!
Reminds me of old programming books for the Vic-20.

Great work. But on slight browsing of it, there're some places needing corrections.
1. I think the Keywords section is not complete, missed 'int' at least but I think it's not that important
2. GetTextWidth() and GetTextHeight() were placed in Raw Draw Functions

A beautiful and brilliant idea.  I opened up at my school comp, just to check it out. Wow, its scary. heh.  Nice job! I'll definitly print this out when I get home. I think a corresponding AGS current release title would be nice though, cause I would love to see this currently updated, and correct.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Wow, you don't realise how many cammands there are until you see them all written down in 1 spot.

Good job SSH, I can see that coming in handy for reference

I took the freedom to convert this brilliant file to pdf, just for those who, for some reason, prefer it to the .doc file.

I hope you don't mind, SSH - please tell me if there's anything wrong with it. And thanks a lot for your work - this will indeed come in handy for me as well.   :)

SSH

Thanks for converting, Thunderstorm. I've updated with Gilbert and CJ's comments: now also a zipped version for those on dial-up.

If anyone wants to make other improvements (like maybe a better order within sections) feel free to edit the file and upload your own version: after all, the copyright on the info is CJ's really, not mine.

Maybe we could put this thread in Tech Archive or add a link on the  AGS links page, or both?

very useful, thankee!!!

you can also add the tokens: @overhotspot@ @score@ @totalscore@ etc

[edit] i see that some global variables are missing. is this quick reference for 2.6? I think it might need updating.

SSH

avatar, good idea on the GUI label codes... but...

Can you tell me which global variables are missing, please? Or at least which ones you noticed...

By the way SSH, the pdf was created using a free online conversion. You might want to convert future releases yourself to make sure they're up to date.

If anyone wants a pdf, that is.  :)

Great work indeed! Thanks for sharing it with the community. This reference is really helpful.
