Hi,

Is there any prog around that lets you draw backgrounds like the simon the sorcerer style?? you know with the shading effect etc?

I don't really think so, but you might want to search google for some tutorials.

Most of those backgrounds are hand-painted and then scanned onto a computer and touched-up. It's really artistic ability that makes them more than anything.
