Hey I have a room with an animating background. And in the same room you can start a conversation with someone. In this dialog you can (ofcourse) choose wat you want to say. But when the choice window pops up to choose an option to say, the animating background freezes. And when you choosed an option the background starts animating again. But I want the background to keep animating and not to freeze when chosing an option.
The solution might be very simple but I couldn't find it.
Can someone help me?
???
I think this is because the game is paused while you click an option. I'm not sure what you can do about this.
Well I haveÃ, a sea thats animating and its very weird when it just freezes. And I have a bar with pirates and stuff all laughing and moving. And lights on the ceiling. And the just all stop during the option choose. I think thats a bit weird to see. But then again if there's no solution, so be it
Per default, the whole game pauses when the dialog-selection list is on, much like a top-down GUI. It's normal behaviour.
BTW, why has the thread been made a sticky?
Yeah, the dialog options act like a Popup Modal GUI and pause the game. However, I've had a fair few complaints about this so I may well add an option to change the behaviour.
I think it makes sense for it to freeze because in real life you don't really spend 5 minutes choosing what you're gonna say before you say it. :P
Unless you're that way inclined. :D
I agree with Zor. If it's a PopUp Modal GUI, and it is, why shouldn't it behave as such?
cos in real life, when you're thinking what to say next, the world around you doesn't just stop... DOH
Also real-life doesn't consist of a multitude of pixels crammed together in a 2-dimensional world to simulate that of something which can't be created...

and in real life, when you're thinking about whether you should use, take or look at something, the world around you doesn't just stop either... DOH

I'd like such an option, provided it's not too much trouble to implement.
