Unfinished template

I've been experimenting with diferrent interfaces, and I came up with this - and I'd like people to try it out and tell me what they think about it.

This is NOT a "template" as such, in the sense it was made by me for me, so that I could understand it, and I made no effort to be understood by other people. Maybe if it's approved, it WILL be released as a template.

The most awkward thing about it is how you walk. GENTLY NUDGE the mouse in the direction you want sonny to go, and to stop him GENTLY NUDGE the mouse in the OPPOSITE direction he's going on. The first few times of times can be confusing, nay frustrating, but please, keep at it, and let me know whether over time you can get used to this way of moving.

Other than that, experiment WITHOUT USING THE KEYBOARD. Interact with left mouse-click to the things near you (as of now, only two things are available - the leftmost fence and the bush at the top), and look at them with the right-mouse button. Double-left-clicking brings up the inventory, and if I hadn't been so lazy, double-right-clicking would have Sonny draw his gun. But the code is there, and there's a Display message to prove it.
To leave the inventory screen, move the mouse OUT of the square that is the inventory. Left-click on anything to pick it up. Left click again on the place it came from to put it back.
Wile you have something selected from the inventory, left-click will use it on whatever's near you, double-click will have you interact with the object itself, and right-click will have you look at it. Double right click to put the object away.
And press one mouse button and quickly press the other one - but not both at the same time - and the game's menu would appear, if there was one. But again, there's a message, so the code's there.
And you'll have to quit with Alt-X.

Please, let me know what you make of it.

The good ol' Segway Template I've been hearing about.  (hint, hint for title)

When I get a moment tomorrow, I'll test this puppy out.  It sounds very interesting and I forsee its use in future games already.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Very interesting idea for an interface. I have to admit I found it annoying to start with, but I think I could get used to it - particularly if diagonal walking directions were implemented.

I can add diagonal movement, yes, although the code would behave a bit differently. No sweat, though. I just have to know whether a regular gamer is willing to take the time to get used to the way the character moves. So thank you, keep the feedback coming, and the... "Segway"... template may soon be polished up. Also, I remembered, the current version isn't prefect, because it doesn't handle screens where the player doesn't walk - such as "in car" scenes. I may correct that.
