Hi there,

I use Wakoopa to track the applications I use. They pick up on the current active process and store the name and time used on their website. For example, the AGS Editor appears here: http://wakoopa.com/software/adventure-game-studio-editor

I think Wakoopa would be a great venue to popularise adventure games old and new. However, all AGS games get lumped together, because their metadata says just "Adventure Game Studio". This means that individual games don't get their own entries. The lump appears here: http://wakoopa.com/software/various-ags-games

Wakoopa have taken the first step to solving the problem by adjusting their classification algorithm. Unfortunately the only distinguishing variable seems to be the EXE filename. One of their developers suggested "It would help a lot if the generated executable would embed the game's name in the metadata instead of 'Adventure Game Studio'". Could this be done in the next version of AGS?

You can query Wakoopa for more details directly or via the Get Satisfaction thread I opened at http://www.getsatisfaction.com/wakoopa/topics/split_various_ags_games_request_has_been_ignored

Here's to making adventure games more visible!

The next version of AGS (3.2) supports this, you can try out the RC3 release which is available in another thread here.

Awesome ;D I'll make sure to let the Wakoopians know.
