Title: Error in Barn Runner 1
Post by: thepr on Sun 14/12/2008 21:24:37
I have a little problem here. I tried to play the game "Barn Runner 1: The Armaggedon Eclair". It's made out of two parts. At the end of part 1 there was a code to the encrypted part two. I entered the code, got part two unarchived, and tried to start the game. Then I received this error:

I thought I should report this, as someone might now what the problem is...

Ponch is the author of the game, so it might be wiser to tell him about it. However, it's not a bad place to post it as well.

Sorry, but this game was made with a very old version of AGS and we can no longer provide support for it.

Please try contacting the game author and see if they have seen this problem before.

Sorry it took me two weeks to respond to this. Since Barn Runner wasn't in the topic heading, I missed it until someone was nice enough to send me an e-mail about it.

Regarding the error, I just downloaded the game from the mirror link, unzipped it, and entered the password for part two. The game started up fine and ran without any problems. I'll send you a PM and we'll see if we can get to the bottom of it.

Again, sorry for the late response.

Problem solved!

I have no idea what was causing it, but I gave thepr a separate download link for part two of the game (the exact same build of the game that comes in the full download, by the way) and it worked fine.

What caused the error? No idea. No one else has reported it and it seems to have been a one-time thing, so I'm convinced there is nothing to see here, citizens.
