Here is my problem.
I work on a new game. A role-playing game, very complex. I work hours and hours on it every day.
Today, I have completed several rooms, with many complex events.
Then, I just wanted to rework the sprites (some of them are quite big) to make them look better.
When I finished to put each of them back in the game (there are more than 200 of them), I save the game... and I got an error message. It says that there is a memory problem.
Ok, I leave without saving, I will do it again later.
I load AGS again, choose my game... and I got this error !

I am unable to work on my game any more !!
All my work of the day has disappeared !!!

PLEASE HELP ME !! :'(
Is there a solution to recover my work ?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!

Gilbert

Backup your game files first to avoid further problem arising. The, look at your game's folder, there should be some files with the extension .BAK . Check whether there is a acsprset.spr.bak file and rename it to acsprset.spr (deleting the possibly corrupt acsprset.spr first of course) and see if it helps.

Marion

There was no acsprset.spr.bak in my game folder, but fortunately, there was one in my yesterday backup folder (I save my game every day on another folder to keep a backup). I put them in my game folder and it works !
I have just lost the new sprites I have put, but that's ok, I can do it again.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH !! :)

When you say this:

QuoteI save the game... and I got an error message. It says that there is a memory problem.

What exactly was the error message? If you didn't write it down, then please if it happens again take a screenshot and post the error here.

If there was an error saving the game, it's not surprisingly that it wasn't able to load it afterwards.

Sorry, I didn't have time to take a screenshot, I'll do next time.
But it was about "memory" error.
