I was playing Project: Xenophobe on Windows 98 and everything worked fine until I was teleported. Everytime I try to do so, the game crashes and I get the following message.
Error: Unknown New Interaction Command
ACI Version 261.747
I'm at a loss what the problem is.
Has anyone else had this problem? It sounds like a bug that was fixed in a later AGS version, but obviosuly that's not going to help you play an existing game.
I tested the game for few times (as i made it :) ). Normaly it works fine, but i got some error sometimes(when entering specific room-Ice planet intro). I had to use two rooms to show that "Ice planet"correctly in AGS (a room, that shows a planet in space..). because, when player entered the first room, screen stayed black until new room was loaded. ::). This is the first (known to me) incident with that ERROR that I heard of.
I just experienced the same exact problem. I am using Windows 98 also. The game crashes when I teleport, right after the General tells me to stand on the Teleporter Pad. I begin to teleport, the game crashes and then I see the same Error mentioned in the above post.
You could try running the game with a newer version of AGS. Download AGS 2.7, and use the ACWIN.EXE from it as described here:

I can't guarantee that this will work, however.
