Title: Extensive Error Message and AGS Crash
Post by: Sylvr on Wed 11/06/2008 22:17:32
Error: Access to the path '**********\dbgrecv.tmp' is denied.
Version: AGS 3.0.1.35

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Documents and Settings\Christine\My Documents\Games\AGS\Penguin\dbgrecv.tmp' is denied.
   at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
   at System.IO.File.Delete(String path)
   at AGS.Editor.EngineCommunication._watcher_Changed(Object sender, FileSystemEventArgs e)
   at System.IO.FileSystemWatcher.OnChanged(FileSystemEventArgs e)
   at System.IO.FileSystemWatcher.NotifyFileSystemEventArgs(Int32 action, String name)
at System.IO.FileSystemWatcher.CompletionStatusChanged(UInt32 errorCode, UInt32 numBytes, NativeOverlapped* overlappedPointer)
at System.Threading._IOCompletionCallback.PerformIOCompletionCallback(UInt32 errorCode, UInt32 numBytes, NativeOverlapped* pOVERLAP)

So it said to post that here, and the background behind the situation was that when I tried to load my game to test it, the character showed up and the walkcycle worked fine and all, but the background was mostly dark grey and flashing. What do I do?

V3.02 isn't officially released yet, so no doubt you didn't realise its existence.

Normally I'll be against normal users to upgrade their games to an unreleased version of AGS (and, againast anyone who tells other to do so) just for fancy new features. However as this time it was meant to fix some serious problem so that's okay. Moreover, as V3.02 is at its final stage before release, and will be officially released shortly, I'll suggest you may just upgrade to the current "final" release to get past the problems, and when it's offically released, change to use the official one.
