 ::) Could somebody help me?  I have latest Wine emulator installed on my Mandrake 9.0 , i also have Windows 98 on it's own partition and it's accessible through Wine. (It can fetch, load dlls, fonts.. )

The only problem is that most of the text on AGS editor are shown as rectangles instead..    so it's entirely unreadable.

I don't want to boot to Windows everytime, because AGS editor is known to work well under Wine.   But this one little problem, makes it impossible to use.

Has someone had similar problems? Could someone provide me some info what font configuration might work?   This is the font section:

[fonts]
;Read the Fonts topic in the Wine User Guide before adding aliases
;See a couple of examples for russian users below
"Resolution" = "96"
"Default" = "-adobe-helvetica-"
"DefaultFixed" = "fixed"
"DefaultSerif" = "-adobe-times-"
"DefaultSansSerif" = "-adobe-helvetica-"

;; default TrueType fonts with russian koi8-r encoding
;"Default" = "-monotype-arial-*-*-*--*-*-*-*-*-*-koi8-r"
;"DefaultFixed" = "-monotype-courier new-*-*-*--*-*-*-*-*-*-koi8-r"
;"DefaultSerif" = "-monotype-times new roman-*-*-*--*-*-*-*-*-*-koi8-r"
;"DefaultSansSerif" = "-monotype-arial-*-*-*--*-*-*-*-*-*-koi8-r"
;; default cyrillic bitmap X fonts
;"Default" = "-cronyx-helvetica-"
;"DefaultFixed" = "fixed"
;"DefaultSerif" = "-cronyx-times-"
;"DefaultSansSerif" = "-cronyx-helvetica-"

; the TrueType font dirs you want to make accessible to wine
[FontDirs]
"dir1" = "/mnt/windows/windows/fonts"
;"dir2" = "/usr/share/fonts/truetype"
"dir2" = "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF"
;"dir4" = "/usr/share/fonts/TT"

Got any ideas?  This font thing is pain in the butt!   Please  :o

PS. There's a winelib that is used to port windows applications to linux, hey.. hey hey..   ?? Is it possible to do that to AGS? It'd be great to get native versions of the editor..

The AGS Editor uses Tahoma, Microsoft Sans Serif and Courier New. I don't know how WINE works but if you need to set up a mapping for specific fonts, those are the ones you'll need.

Please note that running the editor under Linux is not supported. There is however a native Linux port of the AGS engine as I'm sure you're aware.
