does 3x antialiasing introduce new sprites?

A certain room causes a "more than 50 sprites" crash, but ONLY when run with non-standard settings (3x antialiasing, 100MB RAM for sprites, Direct3D9). That room was supposed to only have 49 sprites. Any idea what might be happening?

In Direct3D mode, walk-behinds are rendered as sprites, therefore they come under this limit.

In AGS 3.2, the 50 sprite restriction has been increased to 75 to reduce the likelihood of this problem happening.
