Splash Screen Suggestion

I would find it useful to see the revision number in the initial splash screen.  Is there a way to automate this?  If not then a perhaps a more practical and only slightly less useful alternative would be to include a string differenitating the beta versions from released versions (i.e. the splash screen of released versions would be as they are now and beta versions would include a string similar to this "beta test version".

I know it's trivial, but if it's not too much trouble something like this may keep one of us from disaster someday.  Thanks for listening anyway.

Heh the funny thing though, is that when you choose "about" you get all the infos. What I think of is that probably by displaying the "splash screen" the editor just displays the image and nothing else, if you want it with info, I think either the image has to be modified each version or there need to be some code changes there.

IMO that there are info displayed in "about" screen is enough already.

Maybe he means the games?  ::)
Veteran, writer... with loads of unreleased games. Work in progress.

Gil, before you reach the about box you have to load (create a new) game, I think it's that Rick means. So there maybe occasion when you have several AGS versions and run agsedit of AGS beta and accidently load the old project forgetting to backup the last one. Having a noticeable beta version label or something similar could prevent one from such troubles. :P

What Scorp says, exactly!

If you have multiple project spaces and multiple versions you can spend a lot of time looking at the info box.   My question is if it's not a lot of trouble why not just display the info on  startup?  If CJ doesn't want to do it, I am certain he has a good reason and that is good enough for me.

Cheers..

Sounds like a very good idea actually, to make sure that you know that you've loaded a beta version. I'll look into it.

yeah didn't think of that, but whenever I launched agsedit and didn't need to make a game, I just "create a new game" and typed nonsense like "aaa" for the game name to check. :)

hehe, the same for me.. and since I usually forget to delete it my main AGS folder quickly becomes filled up with these "aaa", "asdfd", "qqq" and other such "important" projects. ;D
