Hi there,

(I hope this is the right forum to post such a suggestion in. If it is not, please do not be angry. I could not find an email contact and I think this is the most appropiate forum.)

I found your website through Maniac Mansion Deluxe, a most excellent recreation of the original game created with Adventure Game Studio. Great stuff, really! I love how now people are able to create their own adventure games. The genre is far from being dead as long as projects like this one exist!

My suggestion, as you probably figured out by looking at the subject already, is the ability to export a Windows CE-executable. Windows CE devices have a resolution of at least 240*320, so resolution-wise it should not be a problem. New devices with VGA-resolution are coming out, as well. Speed-wise - well, there are ports of Doom, Quake, etc. We have PocketSCUMM, a port of SCUMMVM, which runs really well. Gilbert Goodmate has been brought to the platform, as well. I, as well as a lot of other Pocket PC owners, would really enjoy the ability to play the games created with Adventure Game Studio on our mobile devices, and - who knows? - perhaps create our own games!

In any case, I do hope you are interested in this. I read on your website that you only do this in your spare time, but it would mean a lot to the Pocket PC community to see this made.

Here are some links for further information:

Thanks for reading this,
Eike

Ever tried searching the forums? There has been tons of these posts. The answer was always no for one simple reason, Allegro.

I'm not sure exactly what Windows CE supports and what it doesn't.

AGS games should run on tablet PC's / Windows XP Embedded so long as it supports DirectX -- but I don't think that WinCE supports enough features to make it possible.

Of course, as LostTraveller says, Allegro would need to be ported first.
