Title: Inverted Colors When Playing AGS Games
Post by: Balin on Sat 30/12/2006 02:33:13
I wasn't sure exactly where to post this, and I couldn't find any posts that were about this particular issue. The problem is, whenever I play an AGS game, the colors seem to invert themselves. This occurs in the Rob Blanc trilogy and 6 Day Assassin, which are the only AGS games I have played on my computer, outside of KQ1 and 2 VGA by AGDI. Could it be a problem with games, as they are both 8 bit, 256 color games?

Thank you in advance,
Balin

Hmmm did you try playing the game in windowed mode (and vice versa) and see if the problem still persists ?

You may also try upfrading your video card driver and/or DirectX and see if that helps.

P.S. It may also help if you can post the specifications (particularly the video card and directx version) for your computer here.

Haven't played in windowed mode, I'll be sure to try that. In the meantime, here's my system specs:

3.33 GHz Intel Celeron D
512 MB RAM
ATI Radeon Xpress 200 (I believe it has 256 megs of shared RAM)

Thanks.

If I remember correctly, Rob Blanc and 6 Day Assassin were made with the DOS version of AGS, which may be what's causing the problem. If you try playing a more recent game, do you still get the issue?

I don't have any of the more recent games installed, though I'll download one and give it a try.

Wait,  I do have KQ1 VGA and KQ2+, and they both work fine.
