Title: KQ1VGA and AGS Linux v2.71: Inv items missing (SOLVED)
Post by: on Wed 06/09/2006 09:24:25
Hi Guys

I've got the above problem - any item I pick up does not actually appear in the character inventory, though it is removed from the room...

Admittedly, I only tested Tierra's KQ1VGA - any ideas? Can I do anything in AGS itself with the KQ1VGA files to make it work in the Linux AGS interpreter?

I do have the latest version I could find of Linux AGS...

Any help appreciated!

I'm not sure if there's an updated version of KQ1VGA, but as far as I know it's released long before AGS V2.7 was released.
There were HUGE changes in the AGS interpreter since V2.7, so it's no surprise that a game made with older AGS version won't work properly (if working, at all).

Try to use a Linux engine which is before V2.70 and see if it helps.

Ok, I'll try that - could this also be why I cannot load savegames saved with Windows AGS for KQ1VGA in the Linux interpreter?

Edit:

Fixed it!

I downloaded an older version (2_62_772) of the Linux AGS interpreter and it is working fine with KQ1VGA.

Thanks!
