This is a strange thing, sometimes after I exit a game after using ctrl-T to test it, the AGS editor dissappears from the screen & task bar. First of all I wasn't sure if I'd just run it from the EXE file and never had the editor running at all, but I found out after loading AGS up again and then exiting it, the original AGS came back on screen.

It has happened more than once but not every time. It also came back when I closed other windows that were open.

Very strange, If it happens again I'll press ctrl-alt-del to see if it says it's still running (it probably will)

I second Timosity's post - it's happened to me too. I just thouyght it was WinXP related.

I've also had the editor disappear from the taskbar after a test run.  In fact that's been happening since 2.5, at least.  It's never really bothered me because I'm usually flipping back and forth between AGS and PSP anyway.

I occasionally have that problem also. It is related to when you use the emergency CTRL+ALT+END quit command. All you have to do is minimize everything else, and it'll still be on the screen. Click on it and it will return to the taskbar.

Actually, I've had it happen for all three termination cases (normal QuitGame(), emergency quit, and fatal error).  It happens more often in the latter two cases, but it does sometimes happen with normal termination as well.  But like you say, it comes back after you click on something, so it's no big deal.

It all sounds to me as that 2k/xp-related problem with incorrect engine termination, just w/o the error message. Or maybe someone get it? :P

The taskbar item almost always disappears when I quit out of my game!  Though only when I enter the game from the editor.

I have to ALT-TAB to get back to AGS.

Not a huge inconvenience but the first few times it happened I was like, "I didn't close AGS?!?!1!"

But like Ryukage said, I'm almost always flipping back and forth from PS ... so no biggie.

Hmm, the mysterious of the Test Game feature never stop coming.

I haven't had this problem myself (Win2k) but I'll try rewriting the Test Game code again for the next version and see if it makes any difference.

Paper Carnival

That doesn't appear on me. I have win2k pro.

Ok, in SP1 RC2, I've rewritten the Test Game code yet again, let me know if it makes any difference.

Also, does this problem happen just if you test the game full-screen, or windowed as well?

with RC2 in full screen mode it does still dissappear,
but in windowed mode it doesn't but it sometimes gets sent to the back window (or minimized, not sure technically) and the in the taskbar AGS is flashing. I only tested this a few times. [But I never tested windowed mode in RC1, I'll check that out later]
