    Hello guys,

Have anyone tried to play any AGS games on VMWare Virtual Machines ? At first, I thought that the problem was specifically to the game, but as I started to play AGS games recently, I found that every AGS game shows the same problem. The mouse pointer becomes crazy as if it's coordinates were all messed up.
Is this an AGS bug ? Is there any workaround ?

Thanks.

Do other DirectX games work ok in VMWare? It's not something I've tried.

Usually VM machines have a setting to "lock" or "integrate" the mouse pointer which can mess up some games. Try disabling it and see if it fixes it.

Have you tried running it in full-screen mode? I occasionally had some mouse-sync issues running Parallels on my OS X machine, but in full-screen it always righted itself.

    Hi Dudes.

Yep. As uncommon as it is, looks like that the problem is not with VMWare 6 this time. Other Directx games that customize the pointer and buttons functions (using Directx API) work fine.

I disabled it (if what you call lock/integrate is what they call grab and are functions that relates the Virtual Destop to the one in the Host). The same problem occurs. I tried to install other mouse driver, a standard PS2 mouse and it seemed to work at first, but soon I discovered the the max/min screen coordinates were all messed up (When you go all to the right, for example, and you go back to the left, the mouse meets a "wall" before the end of the screen). Strangely enough, this bug carried over to the VM OS (XP) when AGS quitted (only with the standard ps2 driver).

Yes, I tried. In full screen, the mouse bug appear, but in the windowed game the pointer works fine.

With that in mind, I believe that there is some incompatibility with the VMWare and AGS, more specifically in the way that AGS manages the Directx Mouse Interface, cause this happens only in AGS; other games and applications that also uses Directx Mouse Interface don't show the same problem.

Any other ideas ?
