MPEG playback stutters

The first time I play an MPEG with sound on a Windows XP system, the sound stutters during the first second of playback or so. It does not happen on later PlayVideos. Can it be fixed?

I think it involves starting directshow to play it, maybe you can try to add a blank MPEG of a split second, which gets played just after the first room loaded, so to initialize the player first, and see if that helps.

Adding a blank MPEG that plays first should do it, unless the slowdown is caused by something else. Is it the first video each time you load the game, or just the first video after you start your compuetr?
