Hi.
I'm not sure if this question should go into the beginners forum. If that is the case, please move it?
I'm using mp3 soundtrack for my game. To save space some of the tracks a quite short.
The problem is that everytime a song starts over there's a short break. I've prevoiusly solved this by cutting a small piece of the music away so that the the feeling of the music stayed tight. But the small hole of nothing before the track restarts still remains.
Is there any way to get rid of this hole?
NOTE: I've played the files on repeat in others programs. Here there is no hole and the song repeat flawless!
How long are the MP3s?
That's a little different. But around one min.
If you try converting one of the tracks to WAV or OGG, do you still get the problem?
Ok, now I've tried converting one of files to both WAVnd OGG.
When the file is WAV there's no music at all and when it's OGG it has the same problem as the MP3.
It's like the game needs half a second to reload the song when it starts over...
It's possible that the MP3/OGG decoder needs a brief period of time to buffer and decode the track before it starts re-playing. I'm not sure if there's anything I can do about it, to be honest.
If it's really important that it loops seamlessly, you could try using it as an ambient sound and see if that works and better.
