Title: Norman Cooks in 'Search for the Don' Technical Problems
Post by: AstreaEvania on Sat 16/10/2004 11:28:10
When I run the game I get the error message:

Error: load_room: not enough memory to decompress masks

How can I fix this?

Thanks,
Æ

Try changing the amount of memory used by the game, in WinSetup, under the advanced section.

At least I HOPE you can do that, as I recall that's a much older game, it might not HAVE an "advanced" section...

Norman Cooks is quite an old game, and was made with an older version of AGS which had this bug. The bug was fixed in v2.52, but unfortunately the game was compiled with an older version than that.

You could attempt to run the game with a newer version of the engine (details of which are in the Knowledge Base under 'running a DOS game in WIndows 2000') but this isn't gauranteed to work.,
