Mouse pointer misalignment

Hi,

I recently started trying AGS games on a tablet PC (which uses a pen-like object as a pointer).

All of the games I've tried that have a custom cursor (up through recent release I found posted today) seem to suffer from a misalignment problem - the pointer appears on the screen a couple of centimeters below where I point the pen.

I've tested this out with a standard mouse and it seems to have the same problem - if you run a game in a window, and move the cursor from outside the window to inside, the pointer hotspot jumps down.

Has anyone else noticed this?  Is there any workaround available?

Khris

I've noticed the jump before but it usually doesn't matter because there's no direct visible relation between the (hardware) mouse's position and the AGS mouse cursor.
Obviously it's a different thing with a pen tip right on the screen, yes.

In the game's setup, uncheck "force alternate letterbox resolution". That should fix it.
Alternatively, you can try running the game at fullscreen mode (switch to 640x4X0 via the 2x filter, not via the resolution radio buttons, if possible).

Unfortunately, neither of these has worked for me.  Is this just something I need to be content with?

What resolution are the games that you've tried? As KhrisMUC suggests, this could be a problem with 640x480 and 320x240 games, I'll look into it.

I think this is the same problem as this.

Unfortunately I think it depends heavily on the pointing device driver, that there're possibly no best fix.
