Hi i wasn't sure where i should post this so plz don't get pissed at me if it shouldn't be here... ;) I'm working on a game and im making some video cutscenes and im just lookin for some input on what type of file you guys think is best for a video cutscene? as in how good they look/sound/play/anything else.Any input is appreciated thnx fellas :-*
It all depends, really. If you plan on having the game work "out of the box", as it were, then WMV (Windows Media Video) is probably your best bet. To a lesser extent, MPEG 1 is usually a sure thing, but you lose out in terms of quality and file size.
If you're planning on including a third-party video codec with your game, or making it clear that the player needs to download and install one, then Xvid would probably suit.
Or you could try the AGS Theora Video Player plug-in, which can be found in this (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=34910.0) thread.
