Hi:
I want to know if there is a problem with running a game in XP under 320-200 resolution, because the monitor screen is not fully covered with the backgrounds. I tried the same game, made using ags 2.72, in a computer with Windows 98 and the problem is gone. Not even setting the game to run at 640-400 resolution, under XP, make it possible to see the game covering the whole screen.
I guess it will be just great to have the games made under any resolution running fine and covering all the screen so the gaming experience, visually is better.

I don't see the issue...I run Windows XP Home and games in 320x200 look fine to me...My monitor renders the games a bit differently than it does Windows, but with some screen adjustments (centering/stretching/shrinking) it looks fine.

You of course aren't running the game in a window are you? Check your configuration to be sure.

It's not XP that is the problem. Do you have a flat panel screen on the computer? It's probably a combination of that and your video card settings. Most video cards have a configuration for how to display lower resolutions on the fixed resolution of a flat panel screen. My nVidia card lets me choose between "Display adapter scaling" (this is the one you want), "Centered output" (this is what it sounds like you have it set to), "Monitor scaling" and "Fixed aspect ratio scaling".

Usually, you can find this setting under Display Properties/Settings/Advanced.

I dont have a flat screen panel, but I will check on the configuration. Anyway, I am seeing the problem not only on my monitor but in others. Then, it can be that those are not well configured either. I will check. Thanks for replying.

To me it sounds like you just haven't adjusted your monitor settings for this resolution/refresh rate combination yet.

Monitors usually save the screen size and position for each resolution/refresh rate combination seperately.
So if you start a game for the first time that uses a combination that you haven't yet adjusted the screen for, just adjust your monitor and then all games that use that resolution/refresh combo should look fine.
But my monitor automatically saves the settings I make for each combo, maybe you have to manually save them on yours?

It's the same with my computer- I can't run anything in 320x240. If I run AGS games using the res, I only the the top half of the screen. The mouse still can move lower and trigger reactions (I can guess the QUIT button's position in the default game gui and it works), but the lower half is not displayed. I've googled a bit and found some hints that onboard graphic cards (I got an onboard GeForce 6100) sometimes have trouble to display such a low resolution, even though it's officially supported.

Workarounds are: Run in a window (no way  ;) ) or use the 2xNearestNeighbour filter in the AGS setup- that works a treat.
