I've imported a AGS 2.72 game into AGS 3.0.1, and it compiles fine, but when I try to run the game, I get the following error messages.

Quote---------------------------
Adventure Game Studio
---------------------------
Unknown speech lip sync format (might be from older or newer version); lip sync disabled
---------------------------
OK

This game requires a newer version of AGS (3.0.1). It cannot be run.

Invalid file format. The file may be corrupt, or from a different

This engine can only run games made with AGS v2.5 or later.

Any ideas of what could be wrong? ???

How are you trying to run it? Are you using the F5 Run option in the editor, or are you running the EXE manually?

Did you install 3.0.1 to a new folder and not put it in the same one as 2.72?

Elessar

Both methods of running the game produce the same error messages, but using F5 removes the .exe file after the attempt.

I installed 3.0.1 in a different folder from 2.72, but I can't remember if I removed 3.0 from that folder first. :-\

Open up the 3.0.1 folder, right-click the ACWIN.EXE file and check the Version tab. What version number is it?

IIRC there were problems with the installer not overwriting existing files. Or at least not all of them.

3.0.1000.0

Yeah, looks like you've still got the AGS 3.0 version of ACWIN.

I suggest you re-install 3.0.1 to a new folder and try again.

Elessar

Yep, that's what it was, an incomplete install of 3.0.1 over 3.0.

Thanks for your help! :)
