Title: Prodigal: Exception 0xC0000005 (SOLVED)
Post by: on Sun 30/07/2006 06:11:58
To whom it may concern,
I've gotten pretty far in the game Prodigal, but keep getting chucked off the program into Windows. It seems to happen whenever I get to the ancient cliff dwellings sequence and am walking around. The following error message keeps showing up:

Quote
An exception 0xC0000005 occurred in ACWIN.EXE at EIP= 0x77F536F7; program pointer is +4300, ACI version 2.71.891, gtags (46, 24). AGS cannot continue, this exception was fatal.

Please help!!! I love the game and would like to try to finish it!
Thanks a lot,
David

Do the methods described in this thread (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=24825) help?

Turning off the sound solved the problem.  Actually, once I had played for a few minutes and saved a new game, I was able to turn the sound back on, load the newest game, and it's still working.  Thanks for all the help!

Yep, the thread strazer linked to should explain it. I believe it was caused by a corrupt MP3 file.
