I'm not quite sure why this is occuring, but at random times in my game while the player is walking he will suddenly warp to another place on the screen. Has anyone ever encountered something like this and might know what's causing it?

I've seen this happen too, but very few times. In my game and in few other people's games. Have no idea what causes it, though... seems to be absolutely random.

Indeed random, and annoying, maybe it's something CJ should have a look at fixing in the next AGS? Or maybe there is something causing it that we don't realise?

Could be frameskipping caused by some kind of slowdown on your computer (any expensive operation in AGS, or any other program running at the same time)

In my case, I'm pretty sure not, because the character suddenly appeared in a place which was not where it started and in the wrong direction of the place it should go to. I say "should" - it actually went. Thig is, it started from some other stranmge place, having skipped to it.

Which version of AGS are you using? There were a couple of movement issues fixed in 2.62, and one more in the 2.7 beta.

Your call, Krazy - I've seen it sometimes in my LSL2, but not for a long time now, and more recently in other games whose engine I don't know about.

2.61, Guess I should try out the 2.7 beta and see if it's any better. Well I just tried the new beta and the bug still occurs  ???

If you can make some kind of demo game which reliably creates the bug, you could post it here and someone might be able to figure it out.

Pumaman

Yes, please post some sort of example of the problem, then it can be investigated.

Krazy

Ok, I'll try to get some example of it to show you.

When this has happened to me, it's usually while walking on very thin walkable areas -- when I've made them larger, it's seemed to stop happening. But considering it's only happened to me twice, I'm not sure if that's the problem or not (and that was in a pretty old version of AGS, too).
