Title: Saving a game...
Post by: teenage_musings on Sun 01/06/2008 10:23:45
If I've made a game, finished it, and zipped it, does that mean only people who have downloaded AGS Editor will be able to play it?
If no, is there any way to save it so others who don't have AGS Editor will be able to play it?

When you save a game with the Editor. There will be some files in the Compiled folder inside your game's own folder. You only need to distribute the files in this Compiled folder for people to play your game. They don't need the AGS editor.

Yep -- and make sure you use the "Build EXE" option (assuming you're using AGS 3) otherwise those Compiled files won't be created.

hmm... I've done all that though; and I've put it on my USB for the timebeing. I used my sister's laptop to test whether or not it works, but now it says either there's an error (Windows needs me to pick the program from a list) or "Unable to launch" error.
What am I doing wrong? I've got a "acsetup", "music.vox", "speech.vox" and "winsetup" am I missing something?

[sorry for bothering you guys, but I'm a little desperate here- i need to hand it in to my teacher tomorrow]
