Bug? Import over vs. copy&paste

I found the other day that inporting a picture loss less of the colors then if I copy & pasted the picture in to the sprite manager like with psp etc.

Can't honestly say I've noticed it myself. What colour depth are you using?

True color 32 bit. (screen) that matter?

I remember something like this coming up a while back, where images were being downgraded to 15-bit colour if you copied them to the clipboard. I can't remember what the fix was though -- but yes, to be on the safe side, import/export via files.
