Would it be possible to support Theora?

Hmm...I've never heard of it, but from what I just looked up I gather that this is a free video format (in much the same way Ogg Vorbis is a free audio format)?

Do a quick search, there's a relatively recent thread in which CJ considerated the use of Theora. From what I remember, he's essentially waiting for it to leave beta stage, or something.

If so, it could provide video support for Linux as well.

Yup, I suggested it to CJ partially for that reason.  And also because it might lead to a little more flexibility with video content... for example playing movies on backgrounds, which wouldn't be possible just making a call to windows to play a movie.  It also means we don't have to worry about codecs installed on the player's system.
CJ said that he'd take a look at it when it reached version 1.0 (currently in alpha).
