Title: Suggestion: with the movie files
Post by: Vetrijar on Tue 01/06/2004 02:52:57
Couldn't find the information on this in the help files, so figured I'd just put the information out here for you to think about.

Is it possible with future versions to have a supported movie clip be shrinked in size and played on the screen?  kind of like doing a picture-in-picture thing.

Example would be like a regular background of someone's house, and on the tv (when activated) it would play the movie clip that would play in a scripted defined size?

Just a thought.

for now, you can do that, by animating an object with a view that has each frame of the movie

but that would be nice, right?

yes it would be.

example (though for stretched for me) is creating a tutorial or help section
that would so a video clip of what to do or such, but using the same background picture and different buttons to select the video to play.

another example of this would be creating a scene that was at the drive in movies, or a mixture of real and animated stories (I think that cartoon called space ghost does this a lot.)

should at least have a features such as (stop, play, pause) in it. (even a start-at, stop-at feature would be nice to start at a specific position in the avi.)

Playing an AVI file is quite CPU-intensive, and it's not really practical to have one playing in the background while the game continues. Sorry
