Picture disappears

Hope I'm posting in the right section but on playing a few of the games I am getting a problem - on using mouse pointer it is wiping the picture away, when I close the game I am met with a mish mash of screens and everything is blurred and jumbled, I have to shut down the computer - just wondered why this was happening - is it my computer settings?

Which games does this happen with? Does the problem happen in the games or just after you exit? What version of Windows do you have?

I have XP, and a couple of games I remember having probs with are Space and The Crown Of Gold

Ah, I think these are old games made with the DOS version of AGS. Could you check - the way to tell is see whether the game exe has a proper icon, or the boring windows "normal application" icon.

If that's the case I'm afraid there's not a lot you can do, other than plead with the game author to upgrade it to Windows.
